If you're leaving the European Union by road through a Spanish land border crossing, you'll need to complete DIVA validation before crossing the border.
Finding the DIVA validation point
Follow signs for DIVA or Customs (Aduanas). If you cannot find the DIVA validation point, ask Customs officers for assistance. Depending on the border crossing, validation may be completed using a DIVA kiosk or directly by Customs.
Arrive early
Border crossings can become busy, especially during holidays and peak travel periods. Allow extra time to complete DIVA validation before crossing the border.
If you can't find a DIVA kiosk
Visit the nearby Customs (Aduanas) office. If a self-service DIVA kiosk is unavailable, Customs can manually validate your tax-free documents before you leave the European Union.
Spain currently provides DIVA validation at the following land border crossings:
La Línea (Gibraltar): 09:00–21:00
La Farga de Moles (Andorra): 09:00–21:00
