How do I install an eSIM on Android?

Make sure you are on a stable WiFi connection before starting your eSIM installation.

For both the Manual and QR Code installation methods:

  1. Open the Pie app

  2. Go to Account

  3. Tap eSIM

  4. Select the eSIM you want to install

  5. Tap Installation Instructions to see your manual installation codes and QR code

If you choose to install via QR code, either print the QR code or display it on a second device so it can be scanned from the device using the eSIM.

Google Pixel

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet

  3. Select Mobile Network

  4. Tap Add Carrier

  5. Scan QR code or enter code manually

  6. Follow the on–screen instructions

  7. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Roaming”

Manual Installation

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet

  3. Tap “+” next to SIMs

  4. Tap “Download a SIM instead?”

  5. Tap “Next” when prompted to download SIM

  6. Tap “Need Help?” when prompted for QR code

  7. Tap “Enter it Manually”, then enter the installation code from the Pie app

  8. When your eSIM is recognized, tap “Download”

Once you are ready to use your eSIM

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet

  3. Tap SIMs

  4. Select your Pie eSIM

  5. Enable Use SIM

  6. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming”

QR Code Installation

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet

  3. Tap “+” next to SIMs

  4. Tap “Download a SIM instead?”

  5. Tap “Next” when prompted to download SIM

  6. Scan QR code

  7. When your eSIM is recognized, tap “Download”

Once you are ready to use your eSIM

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet

  3. Tap SIMs

  4. Select your Pie eSIM

  5. Enable Use SIM

  6. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming”

Samsung Galaxy -

Manual Installation

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Connections

  3. Tap SIM Card Manager

  4. Tap Add Mobile Plan

  5. Tap “Enter code instead”, then enter the installation code from the Pie app

Once you are ready to use your eSIM

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Connections

  3. Tap SIM Card Manager

  4. Select your Pie eSIM

  5. Enable eSIM under Mobile Network

  6. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming”

QR Code Installation

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Connections

  3. Tap SIM Card Manager

  4. Tap Add Mobile Plan

  5. Tap Scan Carrier QR Code

  6. Scan QR code and follow the on–screen instructions

Once you are ready to use your eSIM

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Connections

  3. Tap SIM Card Manager

  4. Select your Pie eSIM

  5. Enable eSIM under Mobile Network

  6. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming”

Android (General)

Manual Installation

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet

  3. Tap the “+” next to Mobile Network

  4. Tap “Next” when asked “Don’t have a SIM card?”

  5. Tap Enter Code Manually, then enter the installation code from the Pie app.

  6. Turn on eSIM under Mobile Network

  7. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming”

  8. Turn off your primary line to avoid roaming charges from your home carrier

QR Code Installation

On your device:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet (or Connections)

  3. Tap on SIM card manager

  4. Select Add Mobile Plan (or “+”)

  5. Select “Scan Carrier QR Code” (or tap “Don’t have a SIM card”)

  6. Scan the provided eSIM QR code

  7. When your plan is registered, select “OK” to turn on the plan

  8. Now that you have activated your eSIM, you can view it in SIM card manager

  9. Turn on eSIM under Mobile Network

  10. Enable “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming”
